10 December 2024

The Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) has officially launched its new strategy, setting out a long-term vision for the organisation’s role in the digital preservation landscape. After sharing the strategy privately with members for the past six months, OPF is now ready to present it to the wider community.

The strategy outlines OPF’s commitment to advancing the digital preservation sector, guiding the tasks, tools, and projects the Foundation will focus on in the coming years. It defines the organisation’s mission, anchored in its core values, and provides a roadmap for its operations and initiatives.

Key priorities of the strategy include expanding and supporting OPF’s current membership base, enhancing existing tools, and ensuring long-term sustainability within the digital preservation sector. Additionally, the strategy will be supported by a comprehensive action plan and marketing strategy to ensure the successful execution of its vision.

Through this new strategy, OPF aims to solidify its position as a leader in the field of digital preservation and continue driving meaningful contributions to the preservation of digital assets worldwide.
