The social aspects of UKSG 2021
Arguably one of the key (and most enjoyable) aspects of the Annual UKSG Conference and Exhibition is the chance to meet old friends and colleagues and the chance to meet new people in a face-to-face situation.
Our online conference provider, Underline, has an integrated product called Gathertown. This allows you to enter the UKSG Lounge via the coffee cup icon on the conference home page menu here.
Once in you will be able to see and talk to people on your screen (unfortunately on PC or Macs only not phones or tablets). All you do is simply approach them with your avatar and they instantly appear on your screen.
There are facilities in the lounge to hold small or large meetings or just engage one to one.
Additional features include key sponsors “tent” the entrance to the Monday night quiz (you didn’t think we were going to miss this out did you?) and meeting points. There is also a help desk that will be staffed throughout the conference for any queries or assistance you need, or if you’d just like to chat.
Also in the lounge you will find the opportunity to enter our prize draw to win a brand new Apple iPad.
