Cambridge Archive Editions now a part of East View

1 November 2021

East View Information Services has announced the acquisition of the Cambridge Archive Editions imprint, formerly published by Cambridge University Press.

Cambridge Archive Editions presents a wealth of historical reference materials from the 18th-20th centuries on the national heritage and political development of numerous countries. Comprised mostly of documents from the National Archives of the United Kingdom, these primary source collections bring together historically authentic facsimile documents, as well as numerous maps, that otherwise would remain unknown, difficult to access, or fragmentary.

“The Cambridge Archive Editions imprint is a natural fit for East View and our mission of supplying authoritative research materials to the academic community,” said Kent D. Lee, President and CEO of East View. “We are excited to continue to build upon the primary source collections developed by Cambridge Archive Editions over the last 40 years.”

With this acquisition, the complete digital and print backlists of Cambridge Archive Editions will remain available, and production and print stock will now be managed in the United States to better service North American customers. Under East View’s management, the Cambridge Archive Editions portfolio will be expanded—and accelerated, with many new titles coming as continuations of series that have been providing value to scholars for many years.
