ALA Conference scholarships

6 November 2018

The American Library Association (ALA) and EBSCO are offering three scholarships to librarians residing outside of the United States to attend the 2019 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition.

This year’s conference will take place from 20-25 June in Washington DC. These scholarships are intended to allow librarians from across the globe to take advantage of the conference’s professional development, educational and networking opportunities. Each scholarship will provide up to $2,500 to defray the cost of conference registration, travel and expenses.

The application deadline is 1 January 2019, and entries will be evaluated by a jury designated by ALA. Candidates must be an ALA member and should submit an essay that answers the following question:

“Libraries, librarians and researchers become more technologically sophisticated every day. What challenges do you hope technology can address in the next five years to meet the needs of librarians and researchers?”
