De Gruyter OA journals

26 February 2019

De Gruyter’s Advances in Nonlinear Analysis (ANA) is one of ten journals recently moved from a subscription model to open access. ANA publishes research articles in the areas of nonlinear analysis and partial differential equations, and on their numerous applications in science and technology.

In 2015, De Gruyter began investigating both the opportunities ‘flipping’ provided as well as the challenges that must be mastered to successfully transform subscription journals into open access. Ten journals made the transition that year, and all are thriving, although the impact of the transition varied between subject areas. They included titles in mathematics, physics, engineering, robotics, computer science, medicine, life sciences, neuroscience, chemistry and geosciences.

Since then, a further ten De Gruyter journals have made the transition in STEM and the journal portfolio in STEM at De Gruyter is now 20% open access with more candidates being investigated.

Journals in the most recent wave of transitions:

  • Advances in Nonlinear Analysis
  • Green Processing and Synthesis
  • Nonlinear Engineering
  • Nanotechnology Reviews
  • High Temperature Materials and Processes
  • e-Polymers
  • Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Materials
  • Heterocyclic Communications
  • Main Group Metal Chemistry
  • Science and Engineering of Composite Materials
