UKSG 2019 Innovation Award

14 March 2019

UKSG is delighted to offer a new award targeted at new professionals (maximum five years’ experience). We are pleased to be working with the New Library Professional Network (NLPN) and Society of Young Publishers (SYP) on this initiative.

Funding will be provided for individuals to develop ideas and concepts of benefit to the sector. The hope is that the initiative will stimulate innovation and creativity in the scholarly communications sector as well as offering an opportunity for new professionals to raise their profiles.

Potential ideas could include:

  • setting up a new network (like NLPN or DILON)
  • further development of post graduate dissertation research
  • development of a blog/social media service/tool
  • development of an app

There are two awards, one for librarians and one for publishers, and UKSG is offering two individuals (or groups) funding of £1,000 plus mentoring support to develop their concept or ideas.

Further information and details of how to apply are available on the Innovation Award webpage. Anyone with queries should contact either Dominic Broadhurst or Bev Acreman.
