The  UKSG Forum 2024 will be held in person on Thursday 5th December in Birmingham.   
 

This year’s theme is Our profession in 2030: publishing, sharing and curating content now and in the future' 

We encourage all interested individuals to submit their proposals, this is an excellent opportunity to share your insights with an engaged and diverse audience.  

As an invited speaker, (one speaker per presentation), UKSG will cover reasonable travel expenses according to UKSG guidelines.

Areas of interest

 
What will our profession look like in 2030 and what are the practical steps we can take to prepare ourselves and shape our landscape?

We are looking for your thoughts, musing and tips as you look ahead to what is coming over the next few years.   What are you doing now to get ready?  What do you think our ecosystem and profression will look like in 2030?
 

We would be interested to hear your views on questions such as:

  • How will data and technology shape our services?
  • How can we harness the possibilities of AI and machine learning?
  • How will content supply and consumption change?
  • What will learning spaces look like?
  • What skills does our profession need?
  • How can we work towards a more open and equitable future?
  • What impact might financial callenges have on the future of our sector?

We welcome and encourage first time presenters and those seeking to build their experience presenting and will provide support and mentorship for those who would find it beneficial.

We are accepting ideas for full-length (20 - 30 minute) presentations and lightning talks (5 - 15 minutes).

The deadline for submission is Wednesday 31st July 2024, after which our programme committee will convene and review all submissions.  If you need any assistance with any aspect of your submission, please do not hesitate to contact us at events@uksg.org.
