Bernie Folan is carrying out research for a UKSG session in April, asking "What do publishers want librarians to know?" Despite wide dissemination, it is proving a challenge to secure participation from those in the publishing community.
Those who work in publishing (all business functions are asked to contribute) and care about the publisher-library relationship, are asked to take less than five minutes to share a message to the library community anonymously. The short free text questionnaire seeks the message that publishers have for the librarians they, or their organisation, interact with. Results of the current research will be made available openly and completely anonymously. There will be no mention of organisations or names.
In 2017, a similar project was carried out, collecting messages from librarians to publishers A summary and links to the data can be found in this Insights article. The current research is prompted by many requests received for the reverse. The candid insights gained from these studies are valuable due to their anonymous and undirected nature.
