The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) has announced a three-year media partnership agreement with Cadmore Media.
Working primarily on the Annual Conference and Awards, which this year takes place from 11-13 September in Old Windsor, UK, Cadmore Media will provide video hosting, transcription and closed-captioning services for all sessions that are recorded during the three-day event.
Sabia Morrison, ALPSP Conference Coordinator, said, "ALPSP has always made audio and video recordings from its annual conference freely available via its website and YouTube channel. However, with Cadmore’s expertise and help, we will be able to greatly enhance what we offer to our members and the wider scholarly publishing community. Once edited, the 2019 content will include full transcriptions that are searchable and closed captioned, as well as being tagged with relevant metadata to make finding and sharing clips so much easier."
Wayne Sime, ALPSP CEO, said “As an international member organisation with nearly 300 members in more than 30 countries, we are always looking for new ways to ensure what we offer is inclusive and available across the globe. Our partnership with Cadmore Media will be of great benefit to everyone, but, in particular, it will mean that our conference content will now be accessible to non-English speakers, anyone who is hearing impaired and people who are unable to attend the event in person."
It is hoped that the partnership with Cadmore Media will be extended in the future to cover content from other ALPSP events, such as the University Press Redux Conference 2020 and face-to-face seminars.
