Kompass Neumología
Karger Publishers is launching Kompass Neumología, a journal which breaks down research into accessible, practical content in the Spanish language. Research papers are usually written in English and often use scientific language which is not always relevant or directly applicable for healthcare professionals. The target group of Kompass are clinicians and medical specialists.
The board of experts of Kompass Neumología has experts in both pneumology and thorax surgery from Latin America. In this first issue, the experts investigate the origin of infections that lead to diseases like tuberculosis. They reflect and discuss the usefulness and applicability of different clinical and pharmaceutical approaches. Future issues will cover topics like degenerative chronic illnesses, cancer, associated sleep disorders, intensive respiratory care and rehabilitation.
MedRxiv
Karger has also selected six of its journals to test the transfer programme which the new preprint server MedRxiv is making available for the clinical research community. With this service Karger aims to provide authors the opportunity to share their articles on a preprint server before submitting them for publication.
Launched on in June 2019, MedRxiv screens preprint submissions for plagiarism, unethical work, nonscientific content, inappropriate article types and material that could endanger the health of individuals or the general public. Once a preprint is accepted and MedRxiv allows it to be posted, authors can choose to submit their papers directly to various journals. The manuscript submission system of the six Karger journals included is connected to the preprint server.
Karger journals included in MedRxiv:
- Cells Tissues Organs
- Developmental Neuroscience
- Human Heredity
- Journal of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology
- Intervirology
- Journal of Innate Immunity
