A reminder has been issued that the deadline for expressions of interest for history of science collections to be considered for digitisation as part of the Jisc Wiley collaboration is 8 November 2019.
Jisc and Wiley are seeking content for digitisation from UK University libraries and archives as part of an innovative collaboration to produce a new digital collection on the history of science in Great Britain. Institutional collections will complement material from the archives of the British Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), which will also be included.
More information can be found, and expressions of interest submitted, on the Jisc website. The deadline for submission is 8 November 2019.
This collaboration is part of Jisc’s work to explore new collaborative business models to support sustainable digitisation of collections and primary source material. The collection will be launched in spring 2020 and will be freely accessible in perpetuity to all UK universities and colleges without any access or platform charges. After ten years from publication the collection will be made available openly and authentication/password-free globally from the Wiley platform.
