PLOS has announced the launch of five new journals - PLOS Climate, PLOS Sustainability and Transformation, PLOS Water, PLOS Digital Health and PLOS Global Public Health. With these journals, PLOS is co-creating with researchers at the forefront of these issues an inclusive, collaborative outlet to address these challenges.
The aim is to represent the voices of more globally diverse research communities, thereby making trusted, scientific knowledge more open to all. All have an emphasis on directly addressing the most pressing health and environmental issues facing society today.
The new journals will launch with the PLOS core suite of Open Science features, which includes open data, enhanced methods, and open peer review options, among others. In addition, each will have globally representative editorial boards to co-create paths to Open Science that work for diverse communities, which aligns with UNESCO’s Recommendation on Open Science.
PLOS aims to transform science, creating a truly open to read, open to publish framework for researchers. This is achievable through partnership and collaboration with libraries, research institutions, consortia, funders, and service providers.
