Research integrity issues are complicated to manage for both editors and publishers. An apparently simple case can take months to resolve, while the investigation of paper mills and other types of manipulation of the publication process, that span several journals, is a huge drain on time and resources. Often there are unrecognized tensions within organizations that can slow down or even block the resolution of a research integrity case. Understanding what the challenges to research integrity are at an industry level as well as the potential blocks to resolving them within organizations is essential for an effective research integrity strategy.
On June 15, independent research integrity specialist, Dr. Jigisha Patel is running a workshop to help publishers and journals that don’t have in-house research integrity teams tackle these very issues. More information about the workshop and registration can be found here (££).
You can hear more about Jigisha's work at our UKSG Webinar "Research Integrity 2020: New challenges for a new decade" (Free)
(Editor's note: we don't post non-UKSG events as a rule but this topic was one of our most popular webinars in 2020, so people who attended may be interested in following up).
