Conference dates for 2023
The next UKSG annual conference will be held in person in Glasgow, UK on 13-15 April 2023. Our annual conference is usually held over a Monday-Wednesday. Our dates for 2023 are a Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning.
This is a knock-on effect from COVID. We had planned our 2022 conference in Glasgow in our ‘usual’ slot but the virus levels in early 2022 led to the difficult decision to move to later in the year. The Glasgow conference centre couldn't offer us suitable later dates in 2022, but were helpfully willing to transfer our booking to 2023. Unfortunately dates in 2023 were already limited and we had to accept the dates available or risk paying a sizeable fee. As a charitable membership organization with limited finances and a duty to make responsible financial decisions, we could not write off our deposit; thus, we are going ahead in Glasgow with a Thurs-Saturday event in 2023.
In a normal year, most delegates arrive on the Sunday preceding the conference so we hoped that the Saturday wouldn’t be too different / problematic. We also know that Glasgow is one of UKSG delegates’ favourite locations. We hope you’ll join us in making the best of a difficult situation! This should be the last year that UKSG’s annual conference dates are affected by the pandemic. In 2024, we’ll be in Glasgow again (dates Monday 8-Wednesday 10 April 2024).
