Every year UKSG facilitates the funding of six places at its Annual Conference for students and early career professionals, as well as one lucky person benefiting from a fully funded trip to attend both the UKSG Conference and the NASIG conference in the USA.
John Merriman Award
The John Merriman Award is the joint NASIG/UKSG competition, offering a chance to win a place at two of the most prestigious meetings in scholarly publication.
This award is for one delegate registration at the UKSG Conference meeting (Telford, 8-10 April 2019) and also at the NASIG Annual Conference (Pittsburgh, 5-8 June 2019). Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Taylor & Francis Group for the US trip and full financial support from UKSG to attend the UKSG conference.
This is open to anyone working within a library or information service team, with responsibility for managing online resources or in direct contact with library users, supporting them in the use of online resources.
Applications are now open, and the deadline for applicants is Friday 15 February 2019.
Places for students and early career professionals
UKSG is also offering six free places to students and early career professionals to attend the 2019 UKSG Conference (Telford, 8-10 April 2019). There are three free places for library, information or publishing students and three free places for early career professionals working as librarians, publishers or intermediaries. These awards cover the cost of attendance at the conference, including all meals, entertainment and accommodation, and are generously sponsored by Cambridge University Press, Gale, and SAGE Publishing.
Each year the UKSG welcomes highly motivated beneficiaries of the student and early career professional awards who bring with them enthusiasm and, most importantly, an eagerness to participate in one of the best scholarly publishing conference. Apply now for this opportunity to win a free place and get involved early in your professional development with a major conference. The closing date for applications is Friday 22 February 2019.
All applications will be reviewed by a panel and all participants will be contacted with a decision on their application. Any questions about the process, feel free to contact Yann Amouroux, yamouroux@osa.org.
