26 March 2020
Due to the development and impact of the coronavirus pandemic, Cambridge University Press has seen significant disruption to the global supply chain for the manufacture and distribution of printed journals. Therefore the unprecedented decision has been taken to halt all journal issue printing from 25 March 2020 until further notice. FAQs can be accessed on the website.
CUP apologises for the impact that this will have, and hopes to resume printing in the near future. The situation will be kept under close review, especially with regard to public health concerns, and updates will be issued as soon as anything changes.
In the meantime, the company is focusing on:
- processing manuscripts and loading content onto Cambridge Core as usual so that issues will be published online on time
- processing renewals so that when manufacturing and distribution return to normal, outstanding issues are printed and dispatched
- working with suppliers to identify exactly which issues have been printed or dispatched and which will now be held back
- facilitating online access for any society members who require it
