FinELib, a consortium of Finnish universities, research institutions, and public libraries have signed an agreement that provides support for the Open Library of Humanities from four of their member institutions: Abo Akademi University, University of Eastern Finland, University of Helsinki and University of Jyväskylä.
"We are very pleased to have signed an agreement with the FinELib consortium", said Paula Clemente Vega, Marketing Officer for the Open Library of Humanities. "OLH is a scholar-led diamond open access publisher that operates with a consortial funding model in which institutions pool their resources in order to facilitate APC-free open access in the humanities. It is always great to see institutions and funders moving towards building a sustainable Diamond OA landscape. Initiatives such as the Open Library of Humanities would not exist without the generous support of our member institutions and we owe our success to them."
"We are delighted to announce this new partnership with OLH, our first with a scholar-led diamond OA publisher”, said Arja Tuuliniemi, FinELib’s head of Services. "We feel that OLH’s model is both sustainable and equitable and look forward to seeing more of our members joining this collaboration in the future."
