Overt Software, a provider of federated access management solutions, is inviting colleagues to take part in an online access management and authentication survey.
Organisations hope to mitigate threats to passwords with security mechanisms such as single sign-on (SSO) access control and multi-factor authentication (MFA). The survey hopes to gain insight into how SSO and MFA security mechanisms affect different organisations and their users. In addition to this, the survey aims to understand the challenges (and benefits) that organisations need to consider, or have considered, when adopting SSO and MFA. Lastly, the survey asks about the link between SSO, MFA and access management authentication. What are the challenges that librarians, IT services and IT security teams face regarding support and operational aspects of e-resources in relation to SSO & MFA authentication?
The results, conclusions and implications of this survey are intended to inform research and future free online workshops in this area.
This survey should take around 5-10 minutes to complete and is completely confidential. No personal details are required to complete the survey. Simply use Shibboleth UK federation institutional details or create a manual account to access the security course content. At the end, there will be an opportunity to gain free access to some interactive online security courses.
Any questions regarding the survey, contact Masha Garibyan at masha.garibyan@gmail.com.
