SAGE Publishing is now supplying full-text PDFs to Jisc’s Publications Router service. The partnership will see SAGE’s research articles distributed to institutions and automatically ingested into their open repositories.
In the initial phase, SAGE will be providing articles published under the gold open access model, comprising over 180 pure gold open access journals – with subscription content to follow at a later stage. Publications Router will provide these articles in the published version of record each day, with most arriving in participating repositories within two months of acceptance. Each article is accompanied by rich, authoritative metadata, including details of the applicable licence.
Through this initiative, SAGE continues to support its library customers by automatically populating their repositories. Publications Router enables this by matching incoming notifications to participating institutions using the affiliations of (co-)authors. Articles are then transformed into a format matched to the target institution’s system and delivered for automatic ingest – subject to the institution’s usual review procedures.
