The authors of a study into metadata associated with the acquisition, cataloguing and discovery of streaming video in library catalogues are looking for UK responses. The research aims to shed light on what pieces of information make streaming video more accessible and discoverable and to identify areas where metadata, especially that provided by vendors, could be improved.
Acquisition and cataloguing
The survey on acquisition and cataloguing is anticipated to take no more than 25 minutes, and only one response per institution is wanted so please collaborate with colleagues. To enable participants to gather relevant information for response, viewing the survey questions before completing the survey is recommended. The survey on acquisition and cataloguing is then available for those who wish to participate.
Discovery
The survey on discovery should take no more than 10 minutes and is open to everyone, including librarians and other library staff, as well as interested library users. Individual responses are invited, and multiple responses per institution are welcomed.
The surveys are confidential. Data may be reported in aggregate form in conference presentations and/or journal articles. The surveys will remain open until Monday 25 May 2020.
