Bloomsbury Digital Resources have launched a new video collection on their Drama Online platform, the Stratford Festival Shakespeare Collection.
Located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the Stratford Festival is North America’s largest classical repertory theatre company. Each season, they present a dozen or more productions in four distinctive venues. Best known for their Shakespeare productions, they are widely respected in the US and around the world. They produce classic plays, contemporary dramas and musicals, with special emphasis on the plays of Shakespeare.
The Stratford Festival Shakespeare Collection has launched with the following 10 filmed performances:
- Antony and Cleopatra
- Hamlet
- King John
- King Lear
- Love's Labour's Lost
- Macbeth
- The Adventures of Pericles
- Romeo and Juliet
- The Taming of the Shrew
- Timon of Athens
Drama Online originally launched in 2013 with its Core Collection and by spring next year it will have 20 collections across playtexts, video, audio and critical books. In January it will include the new Oberon Books Collection, which will launch with 300 playtexts, building to 500 titles by summer 2020. The Stratford Festival Shakespeare Collection is the first North American video content on Drama Online.
