Bloomsbury have announced the launch of Bloomsbury Video Library, a dedicated new streaming platform offering over 2,000 films, and the latest addition to the Bloomsbury Digital Resources portfolio.
Bloomsbury Video Library has been designed to provide students, teachers, and researchers with access to a rich range of thematic video collections across the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The platform includes documentaries, interviews with well-known practitioners, artists, professionals, filmed performances, masterclasses, instructional videos, feature films, and more.
International in coverage, collections feature videos originating from Australia, the UK, the USA, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Rwanda, and Switzerland, and encompass a truly global range of topics and case studies. Content is sourced from over 200 content partners, from independent filmmakers to award-winning production companies, with a significant proportion available exclusively through Bloomsbury Video Library (either worldwide or exclusive in certain territories).
Content on Bloomsbury Video Library is available through both subscription and perpetual access models. Available from the launch of the Bloomsbury Video Library platform, the Arts and Humanities Collection spans global politics, history and culture documentaries to short films, dance and music performance and experimental, cross-genre artistic works, all selected with students and teachers in mind.
Smaller thematic collections are also available to ensure greater flexibility for customers, including: Film and Media Collection, Visual and Applied Arts Collection, Dance Collection, History and Culture Collection, and Music Collection.
Anna Wright, Digital Portfolio Director for Visual Arts and Video at Bloomsbury Digital Resources, said, “Bloomsbury Video Library represents a cornerstone for our ambitious educational streaming plans, and we are thrilled to have the privilege of working with so many independent filmmakers and acclaimed production companies on our first video collections. These are collections packed with unique material to inspire students, researchers and teachers across the arts and humanities, with content from experimental dance and music performances to history documentaries, ground-breaking video art and short films. With collections updates, a range of new collections plus curated playlists and other learning and teaching materials planned for the coming months, this is just the beginning.”
